What we advise on

IT consulting services

Every engagement is led by an experienced CNS consultant who knows how Cayman businesses work, from the regulators to hurricane season. You get recommendations in order of priority, with the reasoning and the likely cost behind each one.

IT strategy & roadmaps

A plan for the next one to three years that ties your technology to where the business is heading, with priorities, timings and budgets.

IT assessments & health checks

A review of your network, devices, servers, backups, Microsoft 365 and support arrangements, written up as a plain-English report.

Security risk & compliance

Risk assessments and gap analysis against CIMA’s Rule on Cybersecurity and the Data Protection Act, plus help with cyber insurance questionnaires. Cybersecurity & Compliance →

Cloud & Microsoft 365 planning

Whether to move servers to the cloud, keep them on island or mix the two, and how to set up Microsoft 365 and Azure so they’re secure from day one.

AI & Microsoft Copilot readiness

Where AI tools can save your team time, what has to be in place before you switch them on, and a usage policy your staff can follow.

Network & office design

Cabling, Wi-Fi, firewall and comms room design for new offices, fit-outs and moves, planned with your architect and landlord before the walls go up.

Business continuity & disaster recovery

How long you can be without each system, how you’d recover it and how staff keep working through a hurricane or a cyber attack, written down and tested.

Software & supplier selection

Requirements, shortlists, demos and contract reviews for practice management, accounting, CRM and other line-of-business systems.

IT budgets & cost reviews

An annual IT budget, a hardware replacement schedule and a review of licences, subscriptions and contracts you may be paying for twice.

IT project management

One person to plan and coordinate migrations, upgrades and office moves across your staff, suppliers and our engineers, with regular updates.

Mergers, acquisitions & new entities

IT due diligence before a deal, a plan to bring two firms’ systems together, and IT set-up for companies opening a Cayman office.

Policies & documentation

Acceptable use, information security, access control and incident response policies, plus network and system documentation your auditors can read.

Three ways to work with us

Every engagement is scoped and quoted before we start, at a fixed price or on estimated hours, so you know the cost up front.

An assessment with a written report

A fixed-scope review of one area or your whole set-up. We visit, talk to your people, check your systems and give you a prioritised report.

  • CIMA and Data Protection Act gap analysis
  • Microsoft 365, licence and cost reviews

Who we work with

Advice for any Cayman organisation, whoever runs your IT

You don’t need to be a managed IT client. We work with businesses that have their own IT staff, use another provider or have no IT support at all.

  • Owner-run businesses without an IT manager
  • CIMA-regulated firms and their boards
  • Law firms, accountants and fund administrators
  • In-house IT teams wanting a second opinion
  • Finance directors and compliance officers
  • Companies opening or moving an office in Cayman

IT consulting questions

How is IT consulting different from your virtual CIO service?

Consulting is usually a single piece of work with a clear end, such as a review, a plan or a project. A virtual CIO is ongoing: a senior consultant meets you regularly and looks after your IT strategy, budget and policies all year. Many clients start with a consulting review and move on to a virtual CIO.

Do we need to be a managed IT client?

No. We work with businesses that have their own IT staff, use another IT provider or have no IT support at all.

How do you charge for consulting?

We agree the scope with you first, then quote a fixed price or estimated hours before any work starts, so you know the cost up front.

Can you work alongside our current IT provider?

Yes. We can review their proposals, give a second opinion or run a specific project with them. Our reports are written so your own team or provider can act on them.

Can you carry out the recommendations as well?

Yes, if you’d like us to. Our own Cayman-based engineers, cabling team and developers can do the work, and you’re equally free to take the report to another supplier.
